Day 206 of Firsts: Give a Horse His Shots

A lovely horse is always an experience.... It is an emotional experience of the kind that is spoiled by words.  ~Beryl Markham

Veterinarian Carolyn Littel says she vaccinates and cares for over a thousand horses a year in Chester County.  She's a fan of this blog and thought it might be interesting for me to "assist her" for a First.

What a great treat to meet her and her clients Sheelagh and Paul Christensen. They have two gorgeous horses, Easy and Comet, at the Cedar Springs Farm in Cochranville.  The Christensen's are truly trusting souls to let me do my first horse vaccinations (and probably last) on their horses.  Actually, Easy was a practice run. Comet was the real thing.

Oh yeah, and then there's little pot belly baby pig, Maxine, who just had to be part of the show.

Isn't Maxine adorable? Comet and Easy survived my virgin vet tech experience without trauma.

It was beautiful out in horse country today and Carolyn, Sheelagh and Paul made it a great outing. We all went to lunch afterwards at The Whip.  I seriously had one of the best burgers ever there

It was so lovely and peaceful to spend time with animals and sweet people who care about them.  Thanks for a wonderful day and first.

If you have an idea for me, I'd love to hear from you.
