Day 285 of Firsts: Pose for a Street Artist

Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter.  ~Oscar Wilde

I was in Stroudburg, Pa. today shooting a story when I saw a man painting portraits on the street. David Ohlerking's sign advertised FREE PORTRAITS in 15 minutes.

I watched him work, catching the essence, not an exact replica of a person. You can see he's just having fun working for tips.  I dragged photographer Bob Ertel and producer Mina Sabet in to pose.

We stood as still as we could. Not easy.  I love the results. What do you think?

It turns out the painting will take four days to dry.  Ha. We have to figure out a way to get it from Stroudsburg to Philly.  A great way to remember the day.

You can find David Ohlerking at davidohlerking.com
