We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures. ~Thornton Wilder
I decided no matter what this year I would totally enjoy Thanksgiving and stress over nothing.
No centerpiece? Oops forgot. No problem. Apples and leaves.
Extra guests? No problem. The more the merrier.
Forgot to make the squash soup? Forget it. No one will miss it.
Stained tablecoth? Cover spot with candlesticks.
You know what? It was great. What a lovely time. Every little thing that would have stressed me before, I let pass as unimportant because it was. No one cares about perfection. It's the love and warmth and....okay...it's the food.
Here's a little of how it went. Thanks Joe, Ashley, Loraine, Gil, and Chris for sharing our table tonight.
