Day 344 of Firsts: Volunteer at an Animal Shelter

I care not much for a man's religion whose dog and cat are not the better for it.  ~Abraham Lincoln

I just wanted to update this post with a comment left by a Volunteer. Thank you for posting.

Volunteering once is a nice gesture – volunteering a few times a year might make you feel better – volunteering a few times a week makes a real difference to animals who have done nothing to deserve the situation they are in.
Volunteering weekly REALLY makes a difference

Philadelphia Animal Control is full of dogs and cats who just need love. Unless they're adopted,  their best chance of being being comforted, walked or petted is having a dedicated volunteer like Christina Voigt take them out of their cage for a precious few minutes a day.

Today I was a volunteer for a couple of hours.  Take a look.

Philadelphia Animal Control would love to have you adopt or volunteer.

I felt a little sad when I left. I'm not ready to adopt yet. Both my dog and cat died this year. But I'm so appreciative of the job volunteers do to comfort these animals and try to find them homes.
