If you want to be happy, be. ~Leo Tolstoy
Avram Gonzales is about as different from me as you can imagine. He's 22. He lives in Colorado. Yet, we are sharing the same incredible experience of doing something new every day this year. We both started on January 1, 2010. We bumped into each other on the web.
Today it seemed appropriate, on day 200 of Firsts, to celebrate by meeting each other and sharing our experience so far. What we both thought would be a twenty minute chat on Skype turned out to be an almost two hour discussion about life, our blogs, what got us here and where we are going.
You're going to love him. He has so much passion as he talks. Here's just a few little clips to give you a feel of our conversation.
Avram's blog is called InspirACTION and this marketing/business grad student really is inspiring. He's wise beyond his years and fun to watch.
We both shared that we started these blogs because we felt "stuck", sometimes we have no idea what our next first is going to be and we've both experienced tremendous growth and opportunities since we started.
We have completely different styles and we share what we're learning in different ways but there really is a lot of common ground. Amazing.
Yes, I'm old enough to be his mother, (His mother is exactly my age.), yet I think I learned more from him today than he learned from me. What a strange, wonderful world it is that we could discover the other and talk.
So maybe it's true. Great minds think alike? Ha. Fantastic. I'll be watching his journey.
